VIROSPACK AWARDS INNOVATION IN PACKAGING

Trusting on the Academic Formation and Promoting the Creativity of Young Talents, Virospack participates in the National Awards Packaging Design and Sustainability

The past 16th of May the X edition of the National Design and Sustainability Awards of Packaging came to an end, in an event held in the city of Valencia –Spain- in which the two finalist projects and the winner of each 2019 challenge were announced.

It was a show full of surprises and feelings, in which students and teachers from more than 20 universities in Spain, leading companies in the packaging sector, food and household products, as well as specialists in sustainable economics and some public authorities met.

The challenge introduced by VIROSPACK at the beginning of this year, as a result of the academic collaboration agreement signed with the “Cluster del Envase y Embalaje” to support packaging training and development, was not easy. In response to this, the students had to present a new dropper that brought innovation, emotions and sustainability.

A total of 14 projects has been received by the company, all of them very well thought out, as expressed in her speach Rosa Porras, Marketing and Communication Manager at Virospack.

“I would like to thank and to congratulate all the students who have participated in our challenge. Spain is a strong country in packaging for cosmetics and discovering the potential of our students, we will be leaders for a long time “, were words of Rosa Porras. To which she also added “Our objective was the development of a dropper that, fulfilling the attributes of the company´s products -functionality, precision, safety and quality- brings innovation and design to the brands, generating at the same time interaction with the consumer and offering an extra function to the dropper itself. And, obviously, respecting the environment. Milestones that the awarded project has met and for which I congratulate its authors. ”

Rubén Morata and María Ortiz, from the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón, are the 2019 winners with their “Freedom Dropper” project. An innovative proposal of a functional and qualitative dropper, with an extra mirror function that gets interaction with the consumer thanks to a light sensor that gives an alert when the expiry date is approaching. Reusable, thus generating less waste.

A project that together with the two finalists, is now candidate to the Liderpack Awards, the most important awards that are granted in Spain in the field of packaging and POS. Congratulations!
